In order to validate the acquisition of control of Avibras by a Brazilian investor, representatives of the company and the investor met on Tuesday, November 19, with the São José dos Campos Metalworkers' Union to present the proposal for payment of labor debts, which is one of the conditions necessary to make the eventual closing feasible. The union and the employees are an important part of the company's recovery process and their decision will be decisive for the eventual closing of the acquisition or for its unfeasibility.
The necessary steps for the possible acquisition of the company are continuing and should be concluded in the coming weeks. The investor recognizes the viability of the company's recovery, but considers its financial situation to be critical, requiring the adoption of rigorous measures to enable its rescue and the resumption of activities as soon as possible.
The proposal presented is the result of the scenarios indicated by the business modeling and contemplates the majority of the union's and employees' demands. The union rejected the company's proposal and a new meeting has been scheduled for this Friday, November 22, at 2pm, to continue negotiations.
Meetings will also be held with the Lorena Metalworkers' Union and the São Paulo State Engineers' Union to negotiate.
Avibras and the investor are fully committed and confident in concluding the transaction, which could mark the end of the recovery process and the beginning of a new phase of growth for the company, continuing its legacy as one of Brazil's largest defense, technology and innovation companies.
Further information on the process will be released in due course.
