Avibras informs that, as part of the ongoing process to enable and validate the acquisition of control of the company by Brazilian investors, representatives of the company and the investors took part on Friday, November 8, in meetings with the Metalworkers' Unions of São José dos Campos and Lorena, and with the Engineers' Union of the State of São Paulo, to listen to the organizations and, based on this dialogue, draw up a proposal for the resumption of operations in line with the business model under development.
A proposal in response to the union's demands will be presented at the next meeting pre-scheduled for November 19.
This was the first interaction between the investors' representative, Carlos Fortner, and the trade associations. The aim was to introduce him and start a constructive dialog about the resumption of the company's activities after the acquisition is completed, which can only be carried out once all the conditions set out in the agreement have been met.
Fortner is responsible for conducting due diligence, negotiating with the parties involved and building the business model with the support of specialized companies. A professional with solid experience in leadership and management in the public sector and in strategic organizations for Brazil's scientific and technological development, Fortner is a civil engineer with a degree from the Escola Politécnica (USP) and a commercial pilot of planes and helicopters.
Throughout his career he has held senior executive positions, demonstrating his competence in managing teams, administering budgets, leading innovation and strategic development initiatives, as well as his skills in planning and governance at various levels of administration.
He recently served as Director of Administration and Finance at the Center for Management and Strategic Studies, a social organization overseen by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Previously, he was director of the National Institute of Information Technology, a body linked to the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services.
He also held leadership positions at the Brazilian Post and Telegraph Company, where he was President and Vice-President of Operations and of Finance and Controllership. He was also Director of Information Management and Technology at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and Undersecretary for Planning, Budget and Administration at the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications.
The parties remain committed and are working together to conclude the transaction. New information on the process will be released in due course.
