On Monday, February 26, 2024, Avibras obtained a preliminary injunction in court, which annuls its elimination from the public selection for the Small Launch Vehicle (VLPP) project of Finep (Brazilian Funding Agency for Studies and Projects) for the launch of nano and/or microsatellites.
Avibras was selected in the process, but due to the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (RFB) strike, the company was unable to present its tax clearance certificate in time and was disqualified. For this reason, the company filed a writ of mandamus at the beginning of February to annul its disqualification.
For Avibras, taking part in this project is fundamental to reinforcing its pioneering role in the Brazilian Space Programme (PEB) and its capabilities in this segment, as well as contributing, together with other partner companies, to Brazil's aerospace progress, the development of cutting-edge technology, the training of industry, institutes and launch centres, as well as fostering the country's international recognition in the aerospace sector.
